Testimonies

Transformed Gang Member

Denver Gange Member

I began dabbling with addictive substances at a very young age. I was five years old when I started huffing glue and made a habit of it until my parents found out and put it to a stop. Unfortunately for me, my appetite was already wet, and I started smoking when I was twelve.  I started using alcohol, marijuana, and cocaine that same year. It was a short road from there to using methamphetamine, and I started doing so at fourteen. I joined a gang while I was living in Denver, and started distributing and selling meth. We sold enough to make money and support our own habits. We supplemented our income by robbing people and breaking into vehicles. By this time, school was over for me and my parents no longer had any say in my life. The gang and its members became everything to me.

I was successful with distributing meth in Denver, so I decided to go to what appeared to be a better market in Casper. After a term of successful distribution here in Casper, I got caught with eighty seven grams of meth and was arrested. I was convicted of my first felony and sentenced to serve some time in prison. It was during my time in prison that I decided to try and get away from the lifestyle that had placed me here. I began to follow the rules and listen to the authorities that were around me. As a result, I became a model prisoner.

I was released at the end of my sentence and placed on probation in Casper. I got a job and found a girlfriend, but it didn’t take long for me to start using cocaine again. As a result, I lost everything. I was miserable, desperate, and open to almost anything. My parole officer suggested I go to Central Wyoming Rescue Mission. Within three days of coming to the Mission, I gave my life to Christ and joined their Program.

Today I give thanks to the Lord for His loving kindness, and for His wonder to the sons of men! Praise be to God forever and ever!
